Testing Time is Here!

Next week the students will be taking the SC Ready Reading, Writing, and Math state test.

Please see the Dates & Events tab for more information.

Please avoid making doctors appointments, being tardy or leaving early during the week of testing.

The SC Pass (Social Studies and Science) test will be in early May.

MAP testing has officially been completed so that is one less thing to worry about.

Print-outs will be coming home displaying your child's performance.

Spring Break is over!

It is difficult to believe that we will return to school tomorrow after what seemed like a very short break.  What's more is there are only 43 days left of school!

Report cards will be going home on Tuesday, April 5th

MAP testing for the spring will begin this week.  We will test Reading on Thursday, April 7th and Math on Monday, April 11th

SC Ready Math, Reading, & Writing Testing will be April 26-April 28th.  (17 days away)

SCPASS Social Studies and Science will be May 11th and 12th (28 days away)

Progress reports will go home during the week of May 2nd.

Memorial Day, May 30th,  is the only day we will have off before now and the last day of school.

The last day of school is June 2nd.  June 3rd is a teacher workday.

It has been a marvelous year and I am looking forward to enjoying the last 43 days with your children!

Spring Break is almost here!

5 more days and we have Spring Break!  It seems like it got here so fast.  Please remind students to read and use Reflex and Prodigy over the break.  We will have regular instruction each day until the break begins.  There will not be a "party" but we will be doing activities related to spring/Easter that are educational. I wish everyone a great break!

New Year, New You!

It is 2016!  We are 1/2 way done with the school year.  I can hardly believe it.  I am so eager to see the children tomorrow and hear all their holiday stories.  Things will resume as normal in class and report cards will be coming home on January 20th.  Please remember it is important that your child reads each night, practice their multiplication facts and completes their homework to ensure they are practicing material in Science & Social Studies.

15 days!

We have 15 busy days between now and the Holiday Break.  Please make sure students are reading each night and completing their homework which provides them study time.

Our field trip is scheduled for Friday, December 4th and we are super excited about going on a boat to visit Fort Sumter.

The last two days of the tails program are December 7th and December 14th.

Next week tutoring will begin for selected children on either Tuesday or Thursday depending on the bus schedule.  More information will be coming home in the student folders Wednesday.

The students will be participating in the Hour of Code a nationwide coding event during the week of December 7th.  The activities the students complete require problem-solving skills be utilized as well as math skills.  Moreover, it provides the students an insight to what it takes to create computer games and programs.

We winter program is scheduled for Tuesday, December 8th.  Please be sure to come see what the students have been learning.  There is a short PTO meeting that will take place before the program.
